God has created each person for eternal life. By His death and resurrection, Jesus has made it possible for us to share in that eternal life. Although we can know and believe that will all of our heart and soul, the death of a loved one is always difficult. St. Denis Parish and Cemetery are here to help provide a final resting place for your loved ones. Many take comfort that this is sacred ground. It is also a peaceful and beautiful setting that many find helpful for prayer and reflection. We believe that in keeping the place of burial neat and clean we are giving witness to the dignity of every person, both in this life and afterwards. Just as the human body deserves to be treated with dignity and respect in life, so should it be treated after death. Catholic cemeteries are special places, blessed by the Church to receive the mortal remains of the faithful departed and to be a place of comfort for the living. As such they require governance that preserves their Catholic nature. Conduct in the cemetery should reflect the dignity and respectfulness that a Catholic cemetery deserves and requires.
PLANTING & DECORATING REGULATIONS
Decorations not Complying with Rules:
Cemetery employees work in the various sections of the cemetery on a regular basis. As part of their responsibilities, they maintain the beauty and safety of the cemetery. As instructed by the Cemetery Rules & Regulations, to ensure their safety, and the safety of all who visit the cemeteries, they are expected to remove decorations that are not in compliance.
Wind and Theft:
Decorations may also be removed by either of these causes. As it is impossible for employees to be everywhere at all times, the cemetery cannot assume liability for decorations. When items are blown about, the grounds crew has no choice but to dispose of them as the replacement at specific sites is not possible.
