The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) prepares adults to complete their full initiation into the Roman Catholic Faith through the reception of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist. The RCIA meets weekly during the year from September until Pentecost and the Sacraments of Initiation are celebrated at the Easter Vigil. A number of other liturgical rites and events are celebrated during the course of the year. Parishioners may assist in the process in a number of ways including serving as Sponsors for those wishing to become fully practicing members of the Roman Catholic Church.

Desire to share our Catholic Faith and to support others on their journey. Adults over 21 who are willing to make a weekly commitment to support candidates in the R.C.I.A. process. Sponsors/Catechists must be practicing catholics who have recieved all of the Sacraments of Initiation and if married are married in the Catholic Church. You must be willing to attend training classes provided by the Catechetical Office and must absolutely follow the teachings of the Catholic Church. If acting as a catechist for children/teens you must follow the Archdiocesan Guidelines.
