My Dear Parish Family,

Although I certainly do not advocate in any way "chain letters," either on the computer or through regular mail, I would like to encourage all to pass this message along to everyone you can think of.
It is the third Sunday in Lent and so the question rises - "How is Lent going for you?" Perhaps some of the promises that were made on Ash Wednesday have begun to be burdensome or even fallen by the wayside. It is never too late to pick up the discipline of Lent again. God always rejoices in our sacrifices and so please do not be discouraged, but instead recommit yourself to prayer, fasting and almsgiving during this beautiful season of Lent. Also, please remember that we have many Lenten activities going on here at St. Denis and I certainly encourage you to attend one or more (see details in this bulletin) of these special events.
You will be hearing more details very soon, but please save the dates of Sunday, April 25th through Tuesday, April 27th for our Parish Mission. Fr. Frank DeSiano, a Paulist priest, has agreed to come to preach a mission for us on the theme of Evangelizing Mission. Everyone - adults, teenagers and children - is encouraged to attend all three nights, but certainly at least one night should be a must for all of us as we will be still celebrating Easter and getting ready for Pentecost during our Mission. Another message to pass along to everyone is that directly after our Parish Mission is completed I would like our parish family to consecrate (or re-consecrate) themselves to the Blessed Mother. I will be giving everyone more information in the next few weeks and months about the St. Louis DeMontfort consecration to Our Blessed Mother. I have been praying about this for awhile now and believe that if we priests, deacons and lay people place ourselves and our entire parish under the love and protection of Mary, Our Queen and Mother, we will always be protected from the Evil One. Therefore, please be open to joining the consecration to Our Blessed Mother this coming spring. It is really irrelevant to me where you attend Mass each Sunday or where you are able to find peace and joy in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. The important thing is to be with Jesus and His holy Mother always! Find Christ in this or whatever parish you attend, but find Him! Your soul will thank you eternally!
Although this is certainly not a "chain letter," remember to pass all this information along to everyone you can think of.

Until next week, peace and prayers!
Fr. Steve
