St. Denis-St. Columba School

St. Denis-St. Columba School provides a Catholic, Christian education for children in grades 1-8. The 16 classroom facility is the largest parochial school in Dutchess County. It is staffed by the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt and by dedicated lay persons. The schools' educational philosophy recognizes that parents are the primary educators of their child. A school is not just a place for academic pursuits, but is also a place where one is presented with a set of values that are to be actively lived. Rooted in the mandate to teach as Jesus taught, this call of Jesus challenges both teachers and students to seek a better world by building a community of service dedicated to the ideals expressed in the message of Jesus.

RCIA

The process of becoming a Catholic is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (usually called RCIA). This is usually a year long process that will begin the third week in September and ends by Pentecost. It means a minimum of faithfull commitment to worship with us at the weekly Sunday Eucharist, as well as instruction each Wednesday evening lasting 90 minutes. If you know someone, or you yourself might be interested just make a call to one of the Clergy at 845-227-8382. The first step would mean that you are inquiring about becoming a catholic. There is no cost or obligation on your part right away, only an openess to hearing God speak to your heart. Our obligation to YOU is to LISTEN to what God is saying to you and to tell you of the great riches that God has revealed to the Church for almost 2,000 years.
